WON India is dedicated to serving rural, tribal, and underprivileged communities by establishing Gethsemane Prayer Halls and Community Centres across India. Since 2000, we have set up over 110 community-based gathering spaces and several small prayer groups, fostering hope and support in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Manipur, and beyond. We assist over 90 local leaders as they guide and strengthen their communities. Since sustainability takes time, we provide partial support based on need and location. Our vision is to establish 200 centres, helping local communities secure land and build gathering spaces. We are grateful for the opportunities to uplift lives and create lasting impact.
Our Vision
Building Hope, Transforming Communities
WON India is committed to serving underprivileged communities by establishing community halls that provide a safe and supportive space for social work, education, and empowerment programs. Since 2000, we have built over 110 community centres in slums, rural villages, and tribal areas across Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, and Manipur. Inspired by Christ’s call to serve the least among us (Matthew 25:35-40), these halls serve as hubs for vocational training, literacy programs, healthcare initiatives, and children’s development activities, uplifting communities and restoring dignity to those in need.
Many of the areas we serve lack access to basic facilities, leaving children without proper education, women without vocational opportunities, and families without social support. These community halls become a foundation for change, offering a place where individuals can grow, learn, and find hope. Our approach is simple: once a local group expresses interest and participation reaches about 25 families, we encourage them to secure land, and we provide assistance in constructing the facility.
Sustainable development takes time, often requiring years before a centre becomes fully self-sufficient. Until then, we offer crucial support to ensure that these spaces continue to serve their purpose effectively. Our vision is to establish 200 such community halls, bringing transformation to the most neglected regions of India.
